Karl and Herm Eichstaedt have been caring for and creating new area lawns and landscapes in Western Massachusetts professionally since the late 1970’s after they had both graduated from The Williston Northampton School in Easthampton and went off to college. Herm attended the Stockbridge School of Agriculture in Amherst and began his career on a landscape crew at Adams Nursery in Westfield as part of the cooperative work experience each student completes between their first and second years at the school. One of the projects he worked on that summer of 1978 was the Japanese Garden and Tea House at Stanley Park in Westfield that is a favorite for park visitors today. He went on to graduate from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture in 1979 with an AS Degree in Landscape Operations and began working again at Adams Nursery and other area landscape companies, gaining invaluable experience from the veteran professionals he worked with along the way. At this time Karl had graduated from Westfield State College with a BS degree in Economic and after working at various local jobs began a summer job with an established landscape contractor based in Westfield in 1984. When the brothers heard that the owner of the company was contemplating selling his business in the near future, discussions began and a deal was reached whereas Herm and Karl would work with the owner until August 31, 1985, and then purchase the business to begin as Eich Brothers Landscaping on Sept 1, 1985.

We are entering our 37th year this spring of 2022 and have expertly serviced many area landscapes through the years including some accounts that were inherited back in 1985! Today, we take pride in personally creating new plantings, lawns, walks, and walls; while also rejuvenating older, tired looking landscapes. We also currently maintain many residential and commercial accounts in Western Massachusett including large condominium communities. When Eich Bros Landscaping takes on a new project or maintenance account it is most likely from a word-of-mouth referral from a former or existing customer, a recommendation from a fellow contractor or vendor, or from just seeing us out on the job. We have always provided personal service to our clients with either Herm or Karl on the job or just a phone call away. With our roots in Western Massachusetts as 60 year Southampton residents, we have seen most every type of landscape issue out there and with our experience and education, we can find a solution to your needs.
